# Potions

***Potions*** of different colors and rarities are automatically minted onto the blockchain with each Genesis Character drop. For every Genesis Character NFT drop a fixed supply of potions is created and will be available to purchase from the [GG DAO website](https://ggdao.io) or a secondary P2P market such as [Opensea](https://opensea.io/collection/ggdao-items).

Potions may be applied to Characters & other GG DAO NFTs in order to modify their appearance as well as apply effects in-game.

GG DAO was the very first to pioneer the execution of applying an NFT to another NFT to incur a metadata change and this is only the beginning of our innovation.
